Bunny Times - Become confident in facts up to 12 x 12 using visual models that stress the conceptual aspects of multiplication. 

Factris - In this Tetris-like game, players arrange falling blocks that can be reconstructed into different arrays. Doing so allows them to explore array building and factorization.

Focus: Multi-Digit Addition & Subtraction

Overview of the topics to be covered:

Continue to practice addition and subtraction

Round multi-digit numbers and estimate their sums and differences

Add and subtract 2- and 3-digit numbers using algorithms and other methods

Key Vocabulary

  • Rounding- approximating a number to a specific place value
  • Estimate-  a close guess of an actual value 
  • Nearest Ten- rounding to tens place  (50,80,20)
  • Nearest Hundred-  rounding to hundreds place (100,600,900)

Key Strategies 

  • Think of Base Ten pieces or number line to round
  • Estimate Sums by rounding the number and adding 
  • Subtracting on a number line -taking away big jumps with place value (see document)

Hickory, Dickory, Dock -Feed the mouse and avoid the cat by correctly reading the analog clock. Includes half past, quarter to, and quarter past. 

Match Analog and Digital Clocks- Match the analog clock to the digital clock by selecting from hour or half-hour intervals. 

Mostly Postie - Click and drag package onto scales and enter weight in grams or kilograms 

Liquid Measure- Click and drag pipe connectors and water containers so that the amount of liquid specified in a jug will drain into a container with the correct capacity.
