The Muslim Holy month of Ramadon began last Saturday. Over this month, Muslims observing the fast will refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk and exemplify their best behavior; so no anger, no gossip, no inappropriate behavior, as the aim of fasting is to purify the soul. All healthy adults, male and female, are required to fast with some exceptions. Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam and it is an act of worship and a form of spiritual purification through charity and good deeds. Fasting is a tradition in the long line of Abrahamic religions. Jews and Christians also fast as a practice in their religions in different variations. So, TRHS students, faculty and staff, if you have or know a Muslim friend, classmate or student, please make sure to wish them a “Ramadan Mubarak” and be mindful of their fasting and its challenges.

Health Careers Technology is doing a first-aid kit fundraiser. Seniors, get a first aid kit, the perfect dorm essentials, or if you are part of Exped activities and may cut or bruise yourself on a trip, how will you take care of the injured area? Answer: With our fundraising first aid kits. Pets have different needs when injured than people. With our pet specific first aid kit, you can treat man’s best friend with care and kindness using the proper materials. There are different kits for all activities, sports, auto, pets, outdoor, dorm rooms and scouts to name a few. Purchasing a pink First Aid for Life Kit, enables proceeds to be donated to Breast Cancer Research. A first aid kit is vital for emergencies at school, home or on the road. Your purchase supports important programs at our acade Stop by room 182 from Wednesday through Friday to place your order or for more information email bnahra@kentschools.net.
