Kent State University will be visiting TRHS on September 3rd during 9th period in the library. This is a great time to get some of your questions answered and learn more about the campus in your own community. You will be able to talk with admission representatives about classes, co-curricular activities and even campus life. Come down and see if this is the right fit for you.

Any student wishing to have their name correctly recorded in TRHS publications, such as the Rough Rider yearbook, The Colonel, or other school media should pick up a name change request form from the Activities Office or the digital media classroom, room 214. The form is also available on the Roosevelt website on the Student page. This is an effort to end the deadnaming of students in our school publications. Please see the digital media teacher, Mr. Fowler, with any questions.

Auditions for the fall play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time are TODAY at 2:45 p.m. in the auditorium. Winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play, The Curious Incident has been described as “a profoundly moving play about adolescence, fractured families, mathematics, colors and lights...dazzling.” There is no previous experience necessary! Sign up for an audition slot by the scene shop door and fill out the audition form today.

The Varsity Girls Volleyball Team swept Cuyahoga Falls 25-23, 25-20, and 18-25. Our defense was impressive at the net with Jorja Crabtree, Adriana Chlad, and Natalie St John all putting up 3 blocks each. Taryn Jones contributed 12 digs and 11pts serving with 1 Ace. Norah Redfern was on fire for the Roughriders with 14/15 in serve receive passing, 11 digs, 13pts serving with 4 Aces, and 14 kills for the night. Thursday the team takes on Barberton at home

The Genders and Sexualities Alliance welcomes you to their first meeting TODAY, August 28th. The meeting is in the library from 2:30-3:30.

Student Guest Forms for Homecoming are now available in the Activities Office. A student is permitted ONE GUEST or DATE (also known as your +1) for the dance. If that guest/date is NOT a Roosevelt or CTE student, then you must complete the form prior to purchasing tickets. The form should not be used to invite additional friends from another school or graduates if you are already going to the dance with a Roosevelt student as a date (your +1). If the student is not a Roosevelt or CTE student, you must purchase the ticket for yourself and your student guest at the same time, as a pair of tickets. Likewise you must arrive to the dance together for check in.

Join us for auditions tomorrow after school for the fall play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time! 15-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain: He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. Now it is 7 minutes after midnight, and Christopher stands beside his neighbor’s dead dog, Wellington, who has been speared with a garden fork. Finding himself under suspicion, Christopher is determined to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington, and he carefully records each fact of the crime. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.
