ROUGH RIDER ICE HOCKEY FANS! The 2022 season begins tonight. The Riders will be hosting Parma Normandy tonight at the KSU Ice Arena. The puck will drop at 7:00 pm and all are FREE to enter! Please come out for a night at the Rink. We would love to see you!

It’s election time and we want you to exercise your right to vote!! Students who are registered to vote have been given the opportunity, by Mr. Love, to go to their polling place and vote during 1st period on Election Day. See Ms. Boykin in room 161 or Mrs. Puhalla in room 127 for details and field trip forms. Bring your voter registration card or proof that you are registered.

We will be having a Baseball Meeting this Wednesday October 26th tomorrow (immediately after school in Coach Michel’s Art Room 115. The meeting will begin at 2:40pm sharp and will last until around 3:10pm. Those who don’t drive should plan on securing a ride home. We will be setting up our Lifting and Open Gym schedule. Hey Juniors! The Silent Auction committee has been working hard to get donations to raise money for prom. We need more help with reaching out to local businesses. If you are available after school on Tuesday this week, please meet in Mrs. Foreman's room at 2:35. We are sending out a group to ask for donations in downtown Kent, and more people means more donations! See Mrs. Foreman or Mrs. Kaplan if you have questions.

Tomorrow’s theme for our 2022 Halloween Spirit Week is trick or treat. A variation of anything but a bag, but halloween themed.

The Dungeons and Dragons Club will be meeting TODAY after school from 2:45-4:00pm in Room 117 to create characters, with a focus on magic users. Next Tuesday there will be another session to create characters who do not use magic. You may attend one or both sessions. For more details, check out the D&D Google Classroom or stop by Room 117 to talk to Mrs. Mast.

The Rough Rider Cross Country teams finished their regular season at the Suburban League Championships at Silver Creek Metro Park this past weekend. The girls moved up one place from last year, beating Cuyahoga Falls and Barberton. The Rough Riders were led by Junior Jeanie Barzellato ,who finished 10th overall. Also scoring for the girls were Neveah Hersman, Evie Caldwell, Hannah Robinson, and Maddie Baron. The boys team, led by Sophomore Carter Slack, placed 7th in a very competitive division. Also scoring for the Rough Riders were Gideon Kaine, Cor Asp, Diego Coutino Granados, and Carter Stevenson.Our top 7 runners from each team will compete in the District Meet this coming Saturday at Glen Oak High School. Attention all club and CTE program members! Club photo day is THIS Thursday, October 20 in the auditorium. Please look out for the detailed schedule tomorrow to see when your group needs to come down and get their picture taken for the yearbook. Don't forget!

It’s time to get ready for the climb -- all retreat delegates should plan to attend the pre-retreat meeting TOMORROW right after school in the back of the auditorium. We will go over the trip details, including what to pack. You will also select your workshops and preferred roommates for the retreat. The meeting should finish around 3:15. Attention all girls interested in playing basketball this year. Open gyms and conditioning Tuesday and Thursdays from 3-4:30 in aux gym, with tryouts starting Friday October 21st from 3-5.

Congratulations to Roosevelt sophomore Liam Curtis who shot a 75 yesterday at Districts qualifying for the State Tournament in Columbus. Way to go Liam!
