Girls Varsity Lacrosse was victorious over Green last night after an exciting come back. Down 4-6 at the half, our Riders rallied together and scored 6 goals for a final 10-8 win. Goals by freshmen Maddy Steffl, and Jorja Crabtree, Juniors Bella Prichard, Gwen Rogers, and Susan Reer and Senior Abbey Jones and Corrin Wolfgang with Maddie Samaco in the cage with 14 saves! Great job ladies and good luck tonight against Hoban!!

The Rough Rider Baseball Team traveled to Dayton over spring break and played three games to start the 2023 Season. Taking down Fairborn High School at Wright State University 13-7 in game one on Saturday Night. Game two the Riders beat Xenia 11-7 before knocking off host Springfield Shawnee in game three on Tuesday 9-3. Monday night the boys found victory once again 5-1 as we opened Roosevelt Park against the visiting Brush Arcs. After a tough 1-0 loss against Barberton last night, the team will take on Copley tonight at 5:00 at home. Hope to see you there!

Tomorrow is our Glow in the Dark pep rally. Student Council will be providing one glow stick to each student attending the pep rally. We encourage additional glow sticks to really show your school spirit!

Congratulations to the Men's and Women's track & field athletes as they opened their season at Woodridge. Hannah Hido scored in the 1600 meters. Maryum Bonchu, Audrey Gregg, Lindsay Wills, and Mahlia Friedman all scored in the sprint relays. Alea Haines in the pole vault and relays. Ella Hassler in the 400 meters. Kaidyn Harris scored in the sprint relays and was meet champion in the Long Jump. Lea Parham scored in both hurdle events and was the meet champion in the High Jump.

Attention Roosevelt Baseball & Softball Supporters! This year both teams will be teaming up to raise program funds through our 14th annual one day Mattress Sale fundraiser. This Saturday, March 18th, the Roosevelt cafeteria will be set up as a mattress showroom from 10 am to 5 pm. A percentage of all sales will go directly to the team you will be supporting. Our goal is to sell one bed per every player, so please refer your favorite baseball or softball athlete upon purchase. These are name brand beds at a huge savings. All sizes are available along with factory warranties and delivery. All forms of payments are accepted. Please see Mr. Haney or Mr. Michel with any questions. Congratulations to Rough Rider junior, Francesca Ferrara. Francesca earned the title of New York U18 Women's State Champion last week at Bristol Mountain in central New York. She won both the Slalom and the Super Giant Slalom where she hit speeds of over 60 per hour! By winning the Super GS at last week's events, Francesca is now a two-time State Champion in the Super GS event. And with her two first-place finishes, Francesca has qualified for the Eastern Regional championship. Congratulations Francesca and GOOD LUCK AT REGIONALS!
