
The Kent Browns Backers is offering a new $1,000 scholarship for seniors who will be participating in college athletics. The deadline for this scholarship is April 18th. Please stop in the Counseling Office to pick up this application.

Apply to become a Freshman Connections Mentor, so you can teach the incoming freshmen all about high school life and the Roosevelt Way. You can make a difference! This announcement is for all students scheduled to take a state test after break. Would you like a free lunch from a DoorDash restaurant of your choice? If you remember to bring your chromebook to testing, fully charged, again FULLY CHARGED, your name will be entered into a drawing for a $15 DoorDash gift card. We will be giving out three gift cards per week on the first three Fridays in April. Each time you take a test with your chromebook fully charged, your name will be entered into the drawing. You may win more than once. We will announce the lucky winners on those Friday mornings.

Attention Roosevelt Community: The Rough Rider Baseball team will be hosting a 5-team event at Kent State University’s Schoonover Stadium to raise funds in support of Blake Michel this Saturday. Roosevelt will play Stow at 12:30 and Glenoak at 5:30 p.m. There will be a $5.00 entrance fee with all other proceeds going to the Michel family.

Congratulations to Senior Ricky Legg who earned 1st Team All League Selections at 190 Lbs. Freshman Jeremiah Brumfield earned 2nd Team All League at 113 Lbs. Sly Freeman and Keturah Buchanan were Honorable Mention All League at their respective weights. At last night's Wrestling Awards Banquet Juniors Deacon Ragin received the team's Heart Award. Freshman Jeremiah Brumfield received the Coach's Award, and Freshman Lucas Fankhauser received the Most Improved Wrestler Award. Senior Ricky Legg was voted Boys MVP for the 2nd year in a row. Junior Keturah Buchanan was voted Girls MVP. On a side note the OHSAA has made girl's wrestling a sanctioned sport in the state of Ohio. So Girls Wrestling will be an official team sport next year. Congratulations to All the Wrestlers on an outstanding season!

Hey Seniors, Just a reminder that today is the deadline for the Kent City Schools Hall of Fame Scholarship and the TRHS Alumni Scholarships. Turn them in on line by 11:59 pm tonight. The deadline for all other scholarships with a March 15th deadline has been extended to Monday, March 21st. Good Luck!!

Mae Jemison is the first person to have been on a spaceship in real life and on a TV show. She was the first black woman to go into space in September 1992, and then she appeared as a guest on an episode on Star Trek!
