On Friday, April 4, all Kent juniors and seniors will attend the Kent City Schools Hall of Fame (HOF) Junior-Senior Assembly, featuring inductees from the HOF Class of 2023 & Class of 2024. The assembly will be held during 3rd period. Students should report to the auditorium after 2nd period; teachers who have all juniors and/or seniors during 3rd period should attend and help supervise students. The Kent City Schools Hall of Fame was established in 1999 to honor graduates of Theodore Roosevelt High School and/or community members who have made exceptional achievements in their field or unique contributions to their community. After receiving nominations from the community, the Hall of Fame Nominating Committee and the Kent City Schools Board of Education met to select the inductees for 2023 and 2024.

Have you bought your 2025 yearbook yet? If not, then you are going to miss out on an exciting new opportunity. Because our yearbook is delivered in the fall, students usually don’t have the chance to sign their name and write parting messages in each other’s yearbooks. Starting this year, students who purchased a yearbook will get a special autograph supplement BEFORE the end of the school year! The supplements will be handed out just in time for our E3 event on May 2. Students will be able to sign each other’s autograph supplements and get special messages from the graduating seniors. The supplement will fit into the yearbooks after they are delivered in the fall and students will be able to look at the signatures and messages for years to come! You MUST purchase your yearbook BEFORE March 31 to receive this special supplement! Visit the TRHS Student Media website and order your yearbook NOW!

The Muslim Holy month of Ramadon began last Saturday. Over this month, Muslims observing the fast will refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk and exemplify their best behavior; so no anger, no gossip, no inappropriate behavior, as the aim of fasting is to purify the soul. All healthy adults, male and female, are required to fast with some exceptions. Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam and it is an act of worship and a form of spiritual purification through charity and good deeds. Fasting is a tradition in the long line of Abrahamic religions. Jews and Christians also fast as a practice in their religions in different variations. So, TRHS students, faculty and staff, if you have or know a Muslim friend, classmate or student, please make sure to wish them a “Ramadan Mubarak” and be mindful of their fasting and its challenges.
