An online education and career planning tool has been developed to assist students in developing education and career plans! This was developed by the Ohio Director of Job and Family Services, in consultation with the Ohio Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation In compliance with ORC6301.15.  Additionally, to comply with ORC3313.89, each public high school is to provide information regarding the online education and career planning tool, including the internet web site address for the planning tool and a link to that web site.

 This planning tool is OhioMeansJobs K-12. As a comprehensive planning tool, it includes features such as:

  • guided tour and recommended activities

  • online backpack to save and view information

  • career interest survey

  • career information by keyword or industry

  • budget and cost of living tools and information

3313.89 Publication of information regarding online education and career planning tool.

Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, each public high school shall publish or provide, not later than the first day of April of each year, in its newsletter, high school planning guide, regular publication provided to parents and students, or in a prominent location on the school web site, information regarding the online education and career planning tool developed under section 6301.15 of the Revised Code. The information shall include the internet web site address for the planning tool and a link to that web site. The information also shall include a link to the OhioMeansJobs web site.

As used in this section, “OhioMeansJobs” has the same meaning as in section 6301.01 of the Revised Code.
