Welcome to Holden Elementary! We are thrilled that you and your child are joining our school community! Starting kindergarten is an exciting milestone filled with new experiences, friendships, and opportunities for learning & growth.
Our staff is committed to creating a safe and engaging environment where every child feels valued & supported. Throughout this year, your child will develop important academic, social, and emotional skills while building confidence and a love for learning.
Prior to the start of the school year, Holden will be hosting "Kindergarten Kick-Off". The Kick-Off will be from August 12th-14th and will run from 9:00am to 11:30am.
Kindergarten Kick-Off will allow our teachers to get to know your children in more detail, while also helping students adjust to a more structured time in the classroom before school begins.
Please note the following important dates:
August 12-14: Kick-off from 9-11:30 (breakfast will be provided)
August 14-17: Notice of classroom assignments will be sent to the primary email address on file for students. This will occur tentatively between August 14-August 17.
August 17: Supply Night The building will be open from 5:30-6:30 pm, and teachers will be in their classrooms. You may stop by to see the room, meet the teacher, and bring any supplies. Please use the link below to access Holden's Supply List.
August 19 & 20: Kindergarten Readiness Assessments You only need to come to Holden during your scheduled time. The assessment will take approximately 40 minutes, and you may wait for your student in our waiting area.

August 21: Kindergarten Orientation Students with the last name of A-M will meet at Holden from 9:00 to 10:30am. Students with the last name of N-Z will meet at Holden from 1:00 to 2:30pm. This should be for parents/guardians only. We ask that you not bring any siblings, if possible. If you need to alter your time, please let us know in advance. Thank you!
August 24: First Day of School for Kindergarten! The school opens at 8:15am for students eating breakfast and at 8:30am for all other students. School begins at 8:40am, and students arriving after that time are tardy and must report to the office. The dismissal bell rings at 3:15pm. The teachers will go over arrival and dismissal during orientation.
