In conjunction with the Ohio Departments of Education, Health, and Mental Health and Addiction Services,
Stanton Middle School will administer the Ohio Healthy Youth Environments Survey (OHYES) to all 7th grade students.
Ms. Lorduy, our 7th grade school counselor, will conduct this online survey during her monthly counselor lesson starting November 1, 2019. Please read the questions and answers in the link below for information about the survey.
General School Supply Lists
6th Grade Back to School Night will be held on Monday August 13, 2018. Back to School Night is an event for only 6th grade students and their families. 6th grade students will receive a letter in the mail from their 6th grade team. Letters will be mailed on Friday August 3, 2018. In the letter will be the time to attend that team’s Back to School Night meeting. Please meet in the Stanton gymnasium at your team’s assigned time:
Legacy Team: 5:00 p.m.
Megaminds Team: 5:30 p.m.
Buckeyes Team: 6:00 p.m.
All 7th and 8th grade students will be able to find out their team placements on Friday August 10, 2018 after 3:00 p.m. when homeroom lists are posted on the front and side doors at Stanton. There is not a formal orientation or Back to School night event for 7th and 8th grade students that were at Stanton last year. 7thand 8th grade students will not receive a mailing from their teams.
All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will receive their schedules and locker assignments on the first day of school. All students should report to homeroom on the first day of school for Stanton, Wednesday August 15, 2018. School begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2:40 p.m.
Any students that are in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade that are brand new to the Kent City School District should attend an orientation on Friday August 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Stanton Auditeria. Families of new students to the district are also welcome to attend. This is not an event for students that were in the Kent City School District as 5th graders.
Portage County Jobs and Family Services provides help with securing transportation for doctor, dental, hearing, and counseling appointments for adults and children. Services can be requested by calling 330-297-3785. Click the link below for further information.
