Greetings Legacy Families,
We are working on the following:

MATH: Checkpoint 1 – Prime Factors. Assessment over Chapter 1 middle of next week.

SOCIAL STUDIES – Regions Project

LANGUAGE ARTS – Animal Allies unit – Test next Thursday.

SCIENCE: – Mineral Properties – Rock Cycle

OTHER: Congrats to our students of the week thus far:
Sam Luthman, Madelyn Steffl, Tyler Copen and Megan Fankhauser.

These students have been exemplifying what it means to be a “Legacy Leader” !!!!!!

Reminder: Peanut Free Zone!

Students who earn less than 10 Legacy marks, and earn grades of “C” or higher and no office referrals will earn the Legacy Grading period party at the end of the grading period. Ask your child how they are doing with their marks and grades.It is your child’s responsibility to inform you.

Continue to check Progress Book every two weeks and have your child bring home work and agenda planners.

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Writing Numerical Expressions. Prime and Composite Numbers. Factors and Factor Pairs.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Classifying and comparing Regions: Culture, Population Density and Economics.

SCIENCE: Mineral Properties – Labs in class.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Word Study Test – Monday, Sept 9th. Covering Prefixes, Root Words, and Suffixes.
Summer Reading assignment – due Sept -16th. ELA textbooks will be passed out and we will begin unit called: Animal Allies.
Canter Cafe is open – Donations being collected of hot cocoa, tea, honey and spoons and stirrers would be greatly appreciated.

OTHER: We are Peanut Free Zone!!! Please don’t send in any snacks with any type of nut or nut oil in them. We have a few students with severe allergies. Thank You

Legacy Leader Program – Students are earning Legacy marks for not complying with our 10 expectations – ask your child how they are doing? Most kids are off to a good start and have been model students 🙂

Continue to encourage your child to bring home work and their agenda planners each day. Check Progress Book every two weeks.
We are now very busy with learning and into the middle school routine.

Greetings Legacy families,

Welcome to our weekly team newsletter! This site will keep you informed about academics, events and other important information about the Legacy Team through out the school year.

We are working on the following:

Math: Histograms and rounding up numbers

Language Arts: Word Study Unit: Prefixes, Root Words, Suffixes. Test Sept 9th.

Social Studies: Latitude and Longitude – Quiz end of next week.

Science: Scientific Method and Inquiry. Quiz over Scientific Method steps and meanings Tuesday, Sept 3rd.
The students have copy of the notes to take home and study from. They need to know the order and definitions.

OTHER: No School – Monday, Sept 2 – Labor Day

Please send in Legacy Leader Party Contracts to your child’s homeroom teacher – these were mailed home.
Please ask your child during the grading period how they are doing with their Legacy marks? It is your child’s responsibility to keep you informed on their status. Your child earns the party if he or she has less than 10 marks, grades of “C” or higher, and no office suspensions.

Agenda Planner – Needs to fill out for every class and bring home every day.

Monitor your child’s grades on Progress Book every two weeks. Your child can check also 🙂

Greetings Legacy Families,

This is the LAST Legacy in the News for the school year!
We can’t believe how fast this year has gone!

Last week of School:

We will be finishing up some projects in each academic class.

Tuesday, May 21 – Locker clean out

Thursday, May 23rd – Last Day of School! – No Book bags Allowed

Thursday, May 23rd – Plum Creek Park Trip – For Students who earned the trip. If your child did not earn the trip, they will be supervised here at Stanton. Permission slips were sent home with your child.
Students can not have more than 4 Legacy marks, Grades must be higher than “D” in academic classes and no office ISR or OSS referrals during the current grading period.

Plum Creek Park – 9:30 – 2:15 – Dress for weather, sunscreen, hats, tennis shoes etc Bring a snack to share and a water bottle with student name on it. Pizza will be provided. No chaperones needed.

Its been a great year!

We are working on the following:

MATH: We took the Chapter 8 test this past week. Working on Chapter 9 – Surface Area and Volume. We also will start a Data project.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Supply and Demand – Quiz Monday or Tuesday. We will begin our Lemonade Stand next week as well.

SCIENCE: Alternative Energy – Energy Comic Strips.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Books – All About Me

OTHER: Legacy Last Grading Period Party – Thursday, May 23rd – Plum Creek park – students who earned the trip will attend – ask your child how their status is? Students not going to the park will be supervised here at Stanton.

Perm slips and info. will be sent home with your child next week.

SOCIAL STUDIES: SLO test Tuesday – Supply and Demand – affects on market price.

OTHER: Students were told how many Legacy marks they have so far this grading period. Ask your child how they are doing?

May 23rd – last Day – Plum creek Park trip – students who earned the trip this grading period may attend. Students not going will be supervised here at school.

No Book Bags the last day of school.

MATH: Finishing up Chapter 8 – Equations and Unit rates – The final Chapter Test 8 will be May 9th and 10th.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Poetry Unit

SOCIAL STUDIES: Globalization and Specialization.

SCIENCE: Dichotamus Keys – Classifying Living Things

OTHER: Legacy Leader Program – Ask your child how they are doing with marks and grades? Students earn the last grading period party – the last day of school to Plum Creek Park. Students who earn “C” or better on their report card and earn no more than 4 Legacy marks will attend the party. Students who have earned an office suspension do not earn the party.

Thursday, May 23rd – Last Day of School – Plum Creek Park Trip

Final report cards will be mailed home.

MATH: Shape of Data – Mean and Median.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Story Jumper Narrative presentations – present next week.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Project related to Economics and Production – we are creating new products.

SCIENCE: Classifying Living Things – VOCAB Quiz was Thursday – Animal Taxonomy and Animal posters next week. Miss Romigh last day is April 26th.

OTHER: Last Grading Period Party – students can earn the party if they have grades no lower than a “C” and no more than 4 Legacy marks, and no suspensions from the office. Ask your child how they are doing with this?

No School – Friday, April 19th – Good Friday
Interim Grades were sent home with your child.

State Testing: Wed April 10 and Thurs April 11th – begins at 8:00.

Legacy Leaders – Students must earn last grading period party – by not earning lower than a “C” on report card and no more than “4” Legacy Leader marks and no office suspensions. Please ask your child how they are doing, it is their responsibility to communicate this to you.

Greetings Legacy Families,

Have a great Spring Break! March 25th – 29th – No School

State Testing: ELA – Tuesday, April 2nd – 8:00 – start time
ELA – Wednesday, April 3rd -8:00 – start time

Please get to bed early, eat a good breakfast. This is a great opportunity to have the kids show what they know and shine with all the hard work they did this year.

Grade cards for 3rd quarter sent home today.

Since we are one week in to the last quarter – students have 4 Legacy mark limit and are trying to earn the end of the school year picnic the last day. Ask your child through out grading period how they are doing?
