Congratulations to the Roosevelt Swim and Dive team for a great start. Their first meet against Tallmadge was a victory for both the girls 102-66 and the boys 89-73. There were great performances by all athletes. This last Wednesday your Rough Riders competed against Revere. The girls once again won with a score of 95-70 and the boys last a close one 85-83. All of the athletes are getting ready for Aurora January 20th. Good luck Roosevelt and Gooooo Riders!

Boys Bowling Fall to Nordonia
The Boys Bowlers are now 1 and 3 after last nights close loss to Nordonia. Chris LeSueur leads scoring again, rolling 247-257 for 504. He is averaging 245 for 8 games. Matt Richards posted 220-268 for 488 and is averaging 228.6 for 8 games. Parker Balan shows continued improvement scoring 217-193 for 410

Girls Bowling Defeates Stow
The Kent Girls Bowling team defeated Stow by 43 pins on Wednesday at Kent Lanes pushing their record to 3-0. Bowling high games for the Rough Riders were Ryleigh Balan 172, Ryan Rhinehart 171 and Tara Sefchick 177. The girls also bowled an average of 167 in the baker format. The Riders bowl again this Friday against Hudson at Kent Lanes.
Boys Bowling
Boys Bowling loses a close one in a hard fought battle on the lanes. The Stow Bulldogs claimed victory 2623-2599. Solid team effort by all. Top scorer Matt Richards215-257=472, with Chris LeSueur posting 243-195=438, Parker Balan 200-215=415, Alex Davis 208-195=403, Collin Smith 180.
Boys Bowlers Beat Highland
The Boys Bowling team beat Highland with score of 2456 to 2379 Monday. Sr. Chris LeSueur is averaging 254 after his first two matches with games of 249-257-279-231, Jr. Matt Richards is averaging 217 with games of 202-191-238-238.Meier Gillespie rolled a career high game of 234 to help the cause and Parker Balan pitched a 205. The boys and girls bowl at Kent Lanes today against Stow. Go Riders!
Girls Bowling
It has been 45 days since the girls bowling team last bowled and beat Cuyahoga Falls 1,942 to 1,719. Tara Sefchick bowled games of 160 and 210 for a 370 series. High games for the other Rough Riders were: Paige Robinson 163, Ryan Rhinehart 153, Ryleigh Balan 154 and Alie Grove 133. Freshman Camryn Latshaw saw her first action as a high school bowler and bowled in the baker format. The team is now 2-0 this season and bowls at Kent Lanes this Wednesday against Stow.

Swimming and Diving Meeting Oct. 30
Attention all Swimmers and Divers- We will hold a meeting Friday, October 30th at 3:00 to discuss the season. Information will be provided for swim meets and the practice schedule.
Girls Lacrosse Meeting Oct. 23

Cross Country Top Finishers
The Women and Mens Cross Country teams competed in the Suburban American League Championships this past Saturday. Finishing top three for the Women: Emma Arthur, Stephanie Good, and Marissa Koach. Finishing top three for the Men: Jack Heineking, Jack Starzyk, and Ezra Turner
Kent Police Escort for Football Team to Hoban Oct. 16
On Friday, our Rough Rider Football Team will travel to Hoban High School to battle the Hoban Knights in the 2nd round of the OHSAA Football Playoffs. The team buses will leave Roosevelt High School at 5 PM on Friday escorted by Kent City Police through the City of Kent on their way to Dowed Field in Akron. The team buses, with their police escort, will leave Roosevelt High School at 5 PM, head south on Rt. 43 to West Main St. The buses will turn left on W. Main St. (past the Wild Goat) to Water St. The buses will turn right on Water St. and take Rt 43 out of town to I-76.
Rough Rider fans are encouraged to line the team bus route in their Rider Gear with signs to cheer on the Rough Riders and wish them Good Luck as they travel to Hoban High School.

Open Bowling Continues in October
There is Open Bowling every Wednesday in October from 3:30 to 5:00 at Kent Lanes. Bowlers need a ride to and from the lanes and you must wear a mask. See Coach Ehlert in room 132 for any questions.
