This OACAC college fair will provide high school juniors in Northeast Ohio the opportunity to gain early exposure to the college selection process. least year, we hosted more that 1,000 students and 100 colleges and universities from across the United States. Individual students and families are welcome to attend the fair free of charge and do not need to register.

On Wednesday, October 3rd @ 7:00 pm, there will be a financial aid presentation at the high school for all parents. The counseling Office, along with a Financial Aid Representative, will present the latest information on scholarships, paying for college, changes to the FAFSA and financial aid. This is a “must” for all parents whose children may be going on to higher education. All parents are welcome.

PSAT Prep Live starts September 29
Students can get free, live online prep for the PSAT from Kaplan Experts the weekends of September 29 and October 6. Even if your student cant’ attend, all enrollees get access to the live recordings through email.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition for recognition and potential college undergraduate Scholarships. The goal of this program is to identify and honor exceptionally able students and encourage them to pursue rigorous college studies. The competition is open to all U. S. high school students.
This year, Theodore Roosevelt High School is home to three NMSQT Semifinalists. They are:
Mengyu Lu is a Semifinalist. His parents are Jane Gao and Youn Lu.
Nathan Mudrak is a Semifinalist. His Mother is Pam Mudrak.
Abigail Pease is a Semifinalist. Her parents are Elizabeth and Dale Pease.
Each of these students will move on in the competition and apply to become a Finalist.
In addition to the Semifinalists, we are pleased to announce four Commended Students. They are:
Jacob Brawley is a Commended Student. His parents are Abigail Edgell and Thomas Brawley
Maya Niesz Kutsch is a Commended Student. Her parents are Tricia Niesz and Victor Kutsch.
Owen Pazderak is a Commended Student. His parents are Susan Louis and Matthew Pazderak.
Lee Phillips is a Commended Student. His parents are Ruth and Alan Phillips.

Inviting all 10th and 11th grade parents!
On Wednesday, September 26th will be our Sophomore/Junior Class Parent Counseling Information Night. It begins at 7:00 pm in the Roosevelt auditorium. School Counselors, and a College Representative will share information about graduation pathways, Naviance, testing and college preparation with an opportunity for open dialogue at the end of our formal session.
