Principal’s Corner

Greetings!!!
The purpose of the Principal's Corner is to provide visitors to our website with information about Longcoy School. First, our vision statement is: All Longcoy students will learn. . . whatever it takes! To that end, our teachers work above and beyond on a daily basis to meet the individual needs of our diverse student population. This includes preassessing students' knowledge before teaching new information and then posttesting students after instruction has taken place to measure the academic achievement of each student. Students are then provided interventions or enrichment instruction based on their individual posttest data.

Longcoy School is a kindergarten through grade five elementary school and is the Pride of the West Side! We are the Longcoy Lions and we show our PRIDE by living the "Longcoy Way" everyday! Students have the opportunity to participate in many leadership and after school activities such as STEM Club, Safety Club, Dance Club, Hall Monitors, Kindergarten Helpers, Student Council, and Student Ambassadors. monitors, or office helpers.

Last, Longcoy School has an active parent organization called The Longcoy School Association (L.S.A.) and these parent volunteers help organize many fun family events throughout the school year. Some of the favorite L.S.A. activities include: The Family Dance, Scholastic Book Fairs, The Book Bistro, and holiday parties.

In closing, student achievement is always at the forefront of every decision made by the principal and teachers at Longcoy. The educational program provided at Longcoy is unique, individualized, and has proven successful when looking at student achievement data over the last several years.

Thanks for visiting!
