AP Environmental Science: Tue. 10/20 – Fri. 10/23

Hello again! This week, you’ll need to complete all parts of Assignment #3-2: Population Growth by Friday, October 23rd:

1. Review the Essential Knowledge slides for these topics
2. Watch this video: “Crash Course Ecology #2: Population Ecology: The Texas Mosquito Mystery“, which is linked below
3. Follow the directions and answer the questions in Part I of the Directed Task
4. Watch this short TED-Ed video: “Population pyramids: Powerful predictors of the future“, which is also linked below
5. Follow the directions and answer the questions in Part II of the Directed Task
6. Complete the Creative Task and attach it in Google Classroom (you can also paste it into the Creative Task Google Doc, send it to me through Remind, or text it to me) – don’t forget to include a short explanation of how your creation meets the learning goals

Also, read and take notes on Chapter 6-3 and 6-4 from your textbook, and then answer Questions #7-10 & Data Analysis on p.140.

Hello everybody!

This week, please complete Unit 2 Progress Check: MCQ and Unit 2 Progress Check: FRQ on AP Classroom.

Next, you’ll need to complete all parts of Assignment #3-1: Introduction to Populations by Friday, October 16th:

1. Review the Essential Knowledge slides for these topics first.

2. Watch this short video: “Generalists vs Specialists

3. Use the Ohio wildlife booklets to complete Part I of the assignment: (Mammals of Ohio, Reptiles of Ohio, Amphibians of Ohio, Common Birds of Ohio)

4. Use this graph of survivorship curves from Standing Rock Cemetery to complete Part 2 of the assignment.

5. Complete the Creative Task and attach it to Google Classroom or send it to me through Remind, email or text – don’t forget to include a short explanation of how your creation meets the learning goals

Finally, read and take notes on Chapter 6-1 and 6-2 from your textbook, and then answer Questions #1-3 & 5 on p.139.

2. Watch the video “Natural Selection – Crash Course Biology #14
3. Also watch this video: “Ecological Succession: Change is Good – Crash Course Ecology #6
4. Follow the directions for the PhET Natural Selection simulation and answer the questions in all parts of the Directed Task
5. Play the free version of the “WolfQuest” video game or watch this video of WolfQuest gameplay footage
6. Complete the Creative Task and attach it to Google Classroom or send it to me through Remind, email or text – don’t forget to include a short explanation of how your creation meets the learning goals

Also, read and take notes on Chapter 5 from your textbook (it’s short!), and then answer Questions #2, 4, 5, 7, 8 & Data Analysis on p.117-119.
