Free books this summer
A new summer reading program called “Rough Riders Read” kicks off Tuesday, June 11, at 3 p.m. with free swimming from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Roosevelt Natatorium and a free book to take home for every student in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The district’s Mobile Learning Lab will be parked on site and free books distributed at each event. Kent Rotary Foundation contributed $6,500 to purchase books.

Treasurer’s Office receives award
Kent City Schools Treasurer’s Office was recently recognized with an “Auditor of State Award” for FY2018. This is the seventh year the Kent Schools have received the prestigious award for excellence in financial reporting and a clean audit report. If you are a new Kent resident or interested in enrolling your student in the Kent City Schools, enrollment forms are available here 2019-20 School Year – Please use the online 2019-20 New Student Enrollment form to register your student. Stay cool in the RHS Natatorium
Roosevelt’s Natatorium offers beginning swimming lessons for toddlers and floaters, Red Cross swim classes, water aerobics and water arthritis classes. Registration for the Summer session begins Tuesday, May 28. Register online at mypaymentsplus.com or call the pool office at 330-676-8760.
Open swimming is offered for $5 for residents with children age 6 and under for free on Monday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday. For more details, visit www.kentschools.net/rhs-pool/ or call 330-676-8760.
Free weekday AND weekend meals for students in Kent this summer
We want you to be aware that ALL children ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at participating program sites.
Individuals ages 19 through 21 who have been identified as having mental or physical disabilities and are following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through their current enrollment in educational programs also are eligible for free summer meals.
