Coleman Youth Board Dessert Night

Supporting Mental Health Awareness

The Coleman Youth Board is a dynamic group of students in grades 7-12 from Kent, Ravenna and Stow, who are working to reduce stigma and raise awareness of mental health issues in our schools and communities. Their goal is to help provide pathways of understanding and support.

Please come and join them for an evening which will include:

  • A presentation from the youth board
  • Guest speaker, Dan Crail, School Counselor Auburn Career Center, works with students affected by the recent Chardon shootings.
  • Lots of yummy desserts

Kings Island discount tickets are available through all homeroom teachers.  

A combined effort between Environmental Club, Builders Club, and Student Council is sponsoring a jeans drive. You can turn your gently used jeans in to popcorn. Popped in Acorn Alley will donate free popcorn to students donating to the jeans drive by this Friday.  Representatives will be on the stage during lunches this week to accept your donated jeans. All sizes are accepted from your littlest sister to your biggest brother.

If you are a 7th grader planning on attending the field trip to the Football Hall of Fame next week, you need to submit your permission form to Mr. Murphy by the end of today.

Jeans Drive

Students representing the Environmental Club, Builder’s Club and Student Council are sponsoring a Jeans Drive!  The goal of the drive is to re-use and recycle while giving back to the Kent Community.  Receive a certificate for Free Popcorn at Popped! in Acorn Alley II for your donation (any number of jeans, from 1 to 101 will receive the certificate, but only 1 certificate per person will be given).  

OAA TESTING BEGINS APRIL 23

Parents, please note that OAA Testing begins on Monday, April 23rd!

Testing Reminders:
-Students should get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days. Free breakfast will be served to all 8th graders on April 23; all 7th graders on April 24; and all 6th graders on April 30.
-Please come to school on time.
-Please do not make doctor, dentist, etc. appointments on the mornings of testing days.  If you must have an appointment that day, please make it after 11:30 a.m.
-Encourage your child to relax and do their best.
