Language Arts (Mrs. Henry):  Daily Reading Practice, SSR, Read and discuss a short story and identify literary elements of a story. Biography due Friday.5/3/13.

Social Studies (Mr. Pekarcik): CBQ16. Describe the writers and artists who contributed great works during the Renaissance. Finish last week’s People of the Renaissance activity. Read and complete notes for p. 561-565. Assignment: Italian Renaissance worksheet due tomorrow.

Tuesday:

Language Arts (Mrs. Henry): Daily Reading Practice, SSR, Continue story from yesterday and continue identifying literary elements in the story.  Biography due Friday, 5/3/13.

Social Studies (Mr. Pekarcik):Italian Renaissance worksheet due. CBQ17. Describe Leonardo da Vinci: accomplishments, character traits. Readers Theater: Leonardo’s Studio.

Wednesday

Language Arts (Mrs. Henry): Daily Reading Practice, SSR, Figurative language (Puns).  Complete a Graphic Organizer identifying literary elements in the story read Monday and Tuesday.  The Graphic Organizer will be used to write a literary response to the story.  Students will work on the rough draft in class.

Social Studies (Mr. Pekarcik): CBQ18. Leonardo da Vinci continued. View animated biography and complete organizer.

Thursday:

Language Arts (Mrs. Henry): Daily Reading Practice, SSR, Students will use their Graphic Organizer and rough drafts to complete a final copy of a literary response.  If they so not finish in class it will be homework due Monday.

Social Studies (Mr. Pekarcik): CBQ19. Explain the spread of the Italian Renaissance to the rest of Europe and the changes that occurred as result. Read text p. 565-568 and complete notes.

Friday:

Language Arts (Mrs. Henry): No language arts classes due to Career Day activities.  Students should have finished their biography and will write a literary critique on their biography in class on Monday.
