Monday

  • Literature (Mrs. Henry):  Met with first and second periods, worked on Cultural Odyssey poems due Friday, 10/22, Third, eighth and ninth periods did not meet due to aritifact analysis and presentations.
  • Language Arts (Mr. Pekarcik): Met with first and second periods: class time for drafting short stories. Third, eighth, and ninth periods did not meet due to artifact analysis and presentations for Cultural Odyssey interdisciplinary unit.
  • Science (Mr. Walton): Completed all abiotic presentations

Tuesday

  • Literature (Mrs. Henry): Updated grade sheets, characterization sheet, figurative language, Read and discussed The Stinky Cheese Man.
  • Language Arts (Mr. Pekarcik): Returned graded work and updated grade sheets. First, second and third periods: Identify verbs and their tenses, text p.474-475. Class time for drafting short stories. Eighth and ninth periods: Worked on Cultural Odyssey Journal assignment due tomorrow. Class time also for short story drafting. Rough draft of short story for all classes due THURSDAY. 
  • Science (Mr.Walton): Students went outside and recorded temperature differences throughout the day based on various locations.

  • Language Arts (Mr. Pekarcik): Journal 34: brief review of dialogue and sensory details. Class time for work on rough draft of Short Story assginment. Rough drafts due tomorrow.
  • Science (Mr. Walton): Abiotic video- 15 minutes,   introduced soil make up lab.

  • Literature (Mrs. Henry):   Introduced Norse myth, “Beowulf”, assigned film strip,due Tuesday, 10/26.  Cultural Odyssey poem is due TOMORROW!
  • Language Arts (Mr. Pekarcik): Short Story rough draft check. Journal 35. Review verb tense consistency in writing. Begin revising and editing short stories.
  • Science (Mr. Walton): Students collected soil samples and completed lab activity.
