Greetings Legacy Families,

This is the LAST Newsletter of the year!!!

Just a few reminders:

Monday, May 21st – Students will clean out lockers.

STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING BOOK BAGS THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Wednesday, May 23 – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

PLUM CREEK TRIP – Your child received a invitation and info today regarding the trip. Students who did not earn the trip received a parent letter for you to see. Students not attending will be supervised here at school or parent option to keep your child home.

Plum Creek – Wednesday, May 23rd – 9:30 – 2:15
Please bring:
Snack to share
Water bottle with their name on it
May bring outdoor equipment
Dress for the weather
No Cell Phones
No chaperones needed
Pizza will be provided for lunch

Final Grade Cards will get mailed home but you can check progress book for final grades.

It has been a pleasure teaching your children this year 🙂
We wish them all the success in 7th Grade!

We are working on the following:

MATH: We took the Chapter 8 test this week. Next week working on computing percents.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Supply and Demand

LANGUAGE ARTS: Narrative Writing

SCIENCE: Alternative Energy

OTHER:
Interims were sent home with your child today.

Permission slips for last day of school picnic at Plum Creek were sent home with your child today. Please return signed slip to your child’s homeroom teacher. Students who did not earn the trip for too many Legacy marks, low grades or suspensions will be supervised here at school, or parent option to keep your child home.

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Chapter 7 – Volume, Area, and Percents. Mrs. Prelog returns Monday.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Quiz – Specialization and Globalization next week. Also learning about Supply and Demand.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Number the Stars assessment and Narrative Writing.

SCIENCE: 5 Non-renewable Energy sources – QUIZ over all 5 Thursday.

OTHER: Interims – May 4th

Legacy Leader Party – Last Day of school – Plum Creek – Students who earned no more than 4 legacy marks and grades of “C” or higher and no Opportunity Room visits may attend. Students also had to have turned in their signed contracts for the grading period. Your child’s responsibility to let you know of their status. Students not attending will be supervised here at school.

Permission slips will be sent home soon.

Greetings Legacy Families:

We are working on the following:

MATH: Data and one step equations. Mrs. Prelog will return Monday, April 30th. Thank you Miss Welch for a job well done!!

LANGUAGE ARTS: Reading Extension Projects for the Number of the Stars novel.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Economy unit. Products to produce project due Tuesday.

SCIENCE: Animal classification posters, students presented them today. We will begin a non-renewable energy unit next week.

OTHER:
Legacy Leader: Students who receive “C” or better and no more than 4 Legacy marks and no suspensions from the office will attend the last day of school party at Plum Creek Park. It is your child’s responsibility to share with you their status. Please send in the Legacy Contracts as well, so your child can qualify for the party. Students not attending the party will be supervised here at school. Parents choice if you want to keep your child at home that day.

Interims: Friday, April 27th – will be loaded

4 1/2 more weeks of school!!! Last Day – May 23rd.

Greetings Legacy families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Renaisance Math – review of skills.

SCIENCE: – Classifying Living Things.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Economy Unit – Production

LANGUAGE ARTS: Number the Stars novel – Setting and Comparing non-fiction writing.

OTHER: We are all done with state testing!!!! The students worked very hard on them 🙂 We are back to our regular schedule of classes.

Interims Loaded – April 27th – copies sent home May 4th.

Legacy Leaders: Students who earn grades of “C” or higher, earn no more than 4 Legacy marks, Earn no suspensions from the office during 4th quarter and have signed contracts turned in may attend the Last Day of School Plum Creek party. It is your child’s responsibility to inform you of their status and please check Progress Book.

April 30th – Mrs. Prelog returns from maternity leave.

May 23rd – Last Day of School – Plum Creek Party – info will be sent home soon.

Legacy in the News! Friday, April 6th, 2018

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: State Math Test Review – Testing is Wed 4-11 and Thurs 4-12-18

LANGUAGE ARTS: The novel: Number the Stars. Students completed the ELA State testing this week. The students did a nice job of staying focused and worked very hard to do their best on the tests.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Studying different Governments.

SCIENCE: Classifying Living Things – students have vocab cards/list of 18 words to study. Quiz will be in about a week.

OTHER: 4-11-18 and 4-12-18 – State Math Testing – starts at 8:00.

Legacy Leader Program: Please sign and send in contracts so your child can be eligible to earn the final Legacy Leader Party.
Requirements: Signed Contract, Grades of “C” or better, No more than 4 Legacy Marks, No in-school or out-of-school suspensions.
Our last party will be at Plum Creek Park the last day of school. It is your child’s responsibility to communicate to you about their status and check progress book weekly for grades.

Mrs. Prelog returns – April 30th.

Only 6 1/2 more weeks of school!!!!

Legacy in the News! March 9th, 2018

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Completing Chapter 7 – Rates and Dividing Fractions. There will be an assessment before spring break.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Informative Writing and Common Assessments.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Completing unit on Egypt. Unit test will be Tuesday.

SCIENCE: Completed Cell Structure and we will learn about Mitosis next week.

OTHER: Grading Period 3 Ends March 16th – Report Cards go home March 23rd.

Legacy Leader Celebration – Monday, March 19th – Movie – Wrinkle in Time – University Plaza. Permission slips were sent home with your child. Please send in slips and $7.50 to homeroom teacher by Friday, March 16th. Those that earned “C’ or better, earned no more than 6 Legacy marks, and earned no time in the Opportunity Room are invited to attend the movie. Contracts in this regard have been sent home and signed by parents for every grading period. Ask your child about their status. It is your child’s responsibility to inform you about their status for the trip.

Spring Break – March 26th – 30th – No School

MATH: Chapter 7 – Dividing Fractions

SOCIAL STUDIES: Ancient Egypt Literature Circles

LANGUAGE ARTS: Argumentative Writing

SCIENCE: Cell Structures – TEST on Tuesday – Students have a review packet to study from and use on the test.

OTHER:
Mr Ettinger is filling in for Miss Canter, who is on maternity leave.

Grading Period ends March 16th

Legacy Leader Grading Period Party – Monday, March 19th – University Plaza Movie Trip – A Wrinkle in Time. Students who have no D or Fs, no more than 6 Legacy Marks, and no suspensions from class may attend. Ask your child how they are doing? Permission slips will be sent home soon.

Spring Break – March 26th – 30th
Testing Dates – April 3rd and 4th and April 11th and 12th.

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Completed Assessment on dividing Fractions. We will begin Ratios next week.

LANGUAGE ARTS: We will be taking common assessments on Argumentative Writing next week.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Studying Egypt with Literature Circles.

SCIENCE: We just completed and presented our Cell Stories and Drawings. We continue to study cell structure.

OTHER: Legacy Leader Program Reminder: No more than 6 marks, No D’s or F’s and no suspensions for the grading period to attend the Grading Period Celebration. Ask your child how they are doing?
We will be attending the movie – A Wrinkle In Time – University Plaza – to celebrate Legacy Leadership. Be looking for permission slips to come home soon. The cost is $7.50 – Includes movie ticket and popcorn and drink.

#3rd Grading Period Ends – March 16th
Spring Break – March 26th – 30th – No School

State Testing Dates: April 3rd and 4th and April 11th and 12th.

Greetings Legacy Families,

we are working on the following:

MATH: Chapter 6 Test next Friday 2-23-18. A study guide will be sent home for your child to work on and review.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Ancient Egypt Literature Circles.

SCIENCE: Cell Organelles and their functions. We took a Vocab Quiz and we will be writing a Cell Factory Story next week.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Common Assessments and Vocabulary review. Mr. Ettinger will be taking over for Miss Canter starting next week. We wish Miss Canter all the best as she prepares for her new arrival!

OTHER:

Monday, Feb 19th – No School – President’s Day

Legacy Leader Program: Reminder students need to earn better than “D’ on report card, No more than 6 Legacy marks, and have not been suspended from school at all to earn the grading period party. Ask your child how they are doing and check progress book for grades. Third Grading Period ends March 16th.
