Legacy in the News! Friday, September 21, 2018

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Area measurements and Linear Measurements. Moving into generic rectangles.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Google Slide project due Monday. There will be a test Wed or Thurs. next week.

SCIENCE: Rock Cycle – Three types of rocks.

LANGUAGE ARTS: My Perspectives Book – Unit 2 – Hachiko story – comprehension assessment on Friday -9/28.

OTHER: Legacy Leader Program – Ask your son or daughter how they are doing with their Legacy marks? It is the student’s responsibility to inform you of their progress.

Grading period ends – October 11th.

We are working on the following:

MATH: We took the Chapter 1 Test today. We will start Chapter 2 – Looking at Area and Measurements next week.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Unit 2 – Animal Allies – working on exploratory text.

SCIENCE – Rock Cycle

SOCIAL STUDIES – Comparing Regions of the world. Project due next Friday.

OTHER: Interims will be sent home on Monday -Please check progress book for more accurate grade results.

Ask your child how they are doing with Legacy Leader program/marks.

Greetings Legacy Families:

We are working on the following:

MATH: Chapter 1 Test next Friday.

SCIENCE: Mineral Properties/Labs – Rock cycle next week.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Perspective English Lessons begin. Summer reading project due Sept 21st

SOCIAL STUDIES: Classifying and comparing regions project.

OTHER:

Interims loaded – sent home Fri Sept 14th.
T-shirt orders have been turned in – should take about a week to get shirts.
We continue our Legacy Leader Program – kids are having success with this. Ask your son or daughter how they are doing?

Legacy in the News! Friday,August 31st, 2018

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Numerical Expressions, Factor pairs and Prime factorization.
Chapter 1 Test will be September 14th.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Students have two weeks to complete their Summer Reading project at home and during their T.I.E periods.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Classifying Regions.

SCIENCE: Completed study of scientific method – moving into a Rocks and Minerals unit next week.

OTHER: Legacy T-shirt order forms due next week. Keep checking your child’s agenda planner daily. Your child should be writing down assignments in them. Our Legacy Leader program is off and running- ask your child how they are doing with their Legacy marks? Students must earn no more than 10 marks and earn no lower than a “C” on grade card to qualify for grading period party. Students who get suspended from class also do not earn the parties.

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are off to a super start! The students are getting those lockers down and doing a nice job of getting from class to class. We are now deep into learning and work.

We are working on the following:

MATH: Learning about Histograms and reviewing prior Math skills. Reminder to get those Math books covered please. Students are getting into the routine of using their daily HW LOG and managing daily assignments.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Latitude and Longitude Quiz – Tuesday – Then we will be studying Regions of Geography.

SCIENCE: Scientific Method – QUIZ over 7 steps Wednesday – students have notes and flashcards to study.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Test over Word Study skills – Thursday: Prefixes, Suffixes and Root words.

OTHER:

No School – Labor Day, Monday, Sept 3rd
Check your child’s agenda planner daily. Check Progress Book every two weeks, encourage your child to check also. This Newsletter will be posted every Friday 🙂

Legacy T-Shirts – order forms went home with your child today. Turn in form and $12.00 to child’s homeroom teacher by Sept 4th. We will wear them on Fridays to show our team spirit! The money made is used for Legacy events.

Greetings Legacy Families,

This is the LAST Newsletter of the year!!!

Just a few reminders:

Monday, May 21st – Students will clean out lockers.

STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING BOOK BAGS THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Wednesday, May 23 – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

PLUM CREEK TRIP – Your child received a invitation and info today regarding the trip. Students who did not earn the trip received a parent letter for you to see. Students not attending will be supervised here at school or parent option to keep your child home.

Plum Creek – Wednesday, May 23rd – 9:30 – 2:15
Please bring:
Snack to share
Water bottle with their name on it
May bring outdoor equipment
Dress for the weather
No Cell Phones
No chaperones needed
Pizza will be provided for lunch

Final Grade Cards will get mailed home but you can check progress book for final grades.

It has been a pleasure teaching your children this year 🙂
We wish them all the success in 7th Grade!

Interims were sent home with your child today.

Permission slips for last day of school picnic at Plum Creek were sent home with your child today. Please return signed slip to your child’s homeroom teacher. Students who did not earn the trip for too many Legacy marks, low grades or suspensions will be supervised here at school, or parent option to keep your child home.

Greetings Legacy Families,

We are working on the following:

MATH: Chapter 7 – Volume, Area, and Percents. Mrs. Prelog returns Monday.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Quiz – Specialization and Globalization next week. Also learning about Supply and Demand.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Number the Stars assessment and Narrative Writing.

SCIENCE: 5 Non-renewable Energy sources – QUIZ over all 5 Thursday.

OTHER: Interims – May 4th

Legacy Leader Party – Last Day of school – Plum Creek – Students who earned no more than 4 legacy marks and grades of “C” or higher and no Opportunity Room visits may attend. Students also had to have turned in their signed contracts for the grading period. Your child’s responsibility to let you know of their status. Students not attending will be supervised here at school.

Permission slips will be sent home soon.

Last Day of School – Wednesday , May 23rd

Greetings Legacy Families:

We are working on the following:

MATH: Data and one step equations. Mrs. Prelog will return Monday, April 30th. Thank you Miss Welch for a job well done!!

LANGUAGE ARTS: Reading Extension Projects for the Number of the Stars novel.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Economy unit. Products to produce project due Tuesday.

SCIENCE: Animal classification posters, students presented them today. We will begin a non-renewable energy unit next week.

OTHER:
Legacy Leader: Students who receive “C” or better and no more than 4 Legacy marks and no suspensions from the office will attend the last day of school party at Plum Creek Park. It is your child’s responsibility to share with you their status. Please send in the Legacy Contracts as well, so your child can qualify for the party. Students not attending the party will be supervised here at school. Parents choice if you want to keep your child at home that day.

Interims: Friday, April 27th – will be loaded

4 1/2 more weeks of school!!! Last Day – May 23rd.
