DECEMBER NEWS–

December 12th, 2011

Congratulations to the Navigator Team for their efforts in supporting the Pennies for Pajamas for Presents project.  Our students have enthusiastically supported our efforts to raise money to buy toys for Toys for Tots.  In just one short week, we have almost reached our goal of $200 for this organization.  The students will be rewarded by a Pajama Party on Friday, December, 16.  Please be aware that there are strict guidelines regarding the types of pj’s considered appropriate.  If you have any questions, please ask your child to show you a picture of acceptable pj’s, or call the team office for more information.

The intent of the Navigators blog is to provide team announcements and information. The teacher links offer updates and/or assignment due dates in each of the academic areas. The agenda planner kept by your child should be used as the primary tool for home/school communication and is required to be updated daily.

 REPORT CARDS:

Report cards were given to the students during their 9th period classes today.  If your child did not receive his/hers, please call the office to inquire about it.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES:

We hope you have received our conference letter by now and have had an opportunity to submit your request for a conference with the Navigator Team.  All slots for Wednesday, November 9 and 16 have been filled, and the remaining available  time periods are rapidly disappearing.  Please send in your request at your earliest convenience.  You will receive a confirmation slip informing you of your exact conference date and time.

Our 7th grade parent-teacher conferences are designed to provide a brief but thorough opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss student progress and concerns.  We normally request that the students not attend these meetings.

 

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES:

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday,November 9; Wednesday,  November 16; Monday, November 21; and Tuesday, November 22.  Your child will be given a conference scheduling form on Monday, October 24.  Please fill this out and return it as early as possible because all conferences are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.  Your child will receive a confirmation slip as soon as your conference has been scheduled.

If you do not receive a scheduling form next week, please call the Navigator Team office or your child’s homeroom teacher for more information.

 

 

 

NAVIGATOR NEWS: SEPTEMBER, 2011

The Navigator Team is off and running.  In these first few weeks of school, we have learned many things about each other and are settling into a good routine for learning.  We have already met with or spoken to several parents and are looking forward to working with each one of you as we plan how to best meet the needs of your children.  Please don’t hesitate to call the Navigator Team office with any questions or concerns you may have about our work.

Our Navigator Team-building Day is Friday, September 23.  Weather permitting, we will all walk to Fishcreek Park for a picnic and several fun activities to help promote team spirit and friendship.  We are asking the students to contribute drinks (2-liter bottles), chips or desserts (finger food, please) to round out our hot dog lunch.  In the event of inclement weather, we will alter our activities and stay here at school.  We’re looking forward to a great time!
