Up only 3 pins going into the baker format; the Boys Riders stayed focused and bowled as a unit to beat Twinsburg, bringing their record to 4-0 on the season in the Suburban League. Matt Richards bowled a 448 series, Kobe Thigpen a 431, Chris LeSueur a 421, Lucius Ivory a 407, and Shaun Bennett a 352. Over the weekend at the Nordonia Classic Kobe Thigpen rolled his 1st 700 series ! Games of 225-254-226 tallied for a 705 and tied him for 1st place series in the tournament. Kent brought home a second place trophy. Good effort gentlemen!!
All of the Lady Bowlers helped earn a victory yesterday over Twinsburg pushing our record to 3 and 1. However, we are still looking for consistency as we move into the middle of our season and make a push to the postseason. High games for Roosevelt were; Braydn Harris 199, Jade Kimmel 181, Tara Sefchick 153, Melina Ferner 142, Ryan Rhinehart 105, and Paige Robinson a 104. The ladies bowl next at Kent Lanes on Thursday December 13th at 4:00 PM.
The Girls Varsity Bowling team finished in 4th place at the Nordonia Knights Classic yesterday. Bowling high games for Roosevelt were Jade Kimmel 198, Ryan Rhinehart 153, Braydn Harris 159, Tara Sefchick 129, Paige Robinson 128, Melina Ferner 121, and Liz Gavriloff a 107. The team will bowl today against Twinsburg at Roseland Lanes.
The Rider Hockey Team collected its first league victory of the season last night, by defeating the Canfield Cardinals by the score of 7 to 6. Nick Krestan scored a “Hat Trick”, 3 goals, Ethan Steffl had 2 goals, and Monroe and Macomber each scored 1 goal. Jake Bennett recorded his first career league victory in net. The Riders will take on Chagrin Falls this evening.
Congratulations to the Boys Swim and Dive team for a 108-83 win over Aurora. There were many great swims however our swimmers of the meet Justin Barzellato and Finn Kaine were outstanding! Way to go Rough Riders! Our girls battled but came up short last night against Aurora. Our swimmers of the meet were Maddie Touve and Hava Bailey. Great job girls! Our next home meet will be Wednesday, December 12th against Tallmadge.
It was a tightly contested match throughout; but the Boy Bowlers rallied in the baker format to claim victory. Once again, the solid team performance was the difference, with each individual doing their part to bring success, leading by a mere 5 pins after 2 games. Lucius Ivory bowled a 201 and 189, Chris LeSueur 188 and 194, Shaun Bennett 179 and 193, Matt Richards 192 and 178, Carter Troyer 179. They won by 74 pins and their record is now 3 and 0!
The Lady Bowlers hung on and won a close one against Copley winning by a score of 1,619 to 1,617 and pushed their record to 2-1. Rolling high games for the Rough Riders were Tara Sefchick 185, Braydn Harris 162, Jade Kimmel 154, Ryan Rhinhart 109, and Paige Robinson 99. The ladies bowl again this Sunday in the Nordonia Knights Classic at North Woods Lanes at 9:00 AM.
Congratulations to the Rough Rider Boys basketball team for beating Southeast last night by a final score of 61-40. The Rough Riders were led by Zac Common with 22 points and Kristian Daetwyler with 15 pts. The boys next play, this Friday at Highland. Great job Riders!
The Girls Bowling team evened up their record at 1-1 by beating Barberton 2,049 to 1,119 yesterday at Kent Lanes. Jade Kimmel came up huge rolling games of 197 and 186. Melina Ferner rolled her best as a Rough Rider going 167 and 164. Braydn Harris had games of 169 and 158 while Tara Sefchick rolled 150 and 145. Finally, new comer Paige Robinson rolled games of 107 and 109 for a 216 series. The Riders were up by one pin after game one but pushed it to 51 pins before heading into the Baker format. The ladies sealed the deal by rolling games of 164, 175, and 158. The ladies will bowl again today against Copley at Reviera Lanes.

A tough loss to start a long season. The lady bowlers let one get away Thursday at Kent Lanes losing by 21 pins. Braydn Harris rolled games of 173 and 178. Tara Sefchick had a high game of 197. The next match is scheduled for Tuesday at 4 PM at Kent Lanes.
The Tallmadge Blue Devils rolled out big scores, but the Kent boys were not discouraged. They brought home a come from behind victory 2723 to 2706. Kent score-Kobe Thigpen a 236 and a 227 game for a total 463, Lucius Ivory 204-212for a 416, Chris Lesueur 196-215 for a 411, Matt Richards 212-185 for a 397, and Shaun Bennett 157-208 for a 365.
