The Theodore Roosevelt High School Cosmetology Lab is open for clients the third week of September through April. Senior student hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 and Thursdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. Services include Color, Perms, Pedicure, Nails, Facials, Mainicures, Brows, Haircutting, and Highlights.

Boys Basketball vs Barberton Ticket/Seating Info
The Rough Rider Boys Basketball team opens the season with a home game this Friday, December 2nd against the Barberton Magics. Student and adult tickets will be sold the night of the game with doors opening at 5:15. Many Barberton fans usually travel to away contests, so expect a large crowd. Seating in Roosevelt Gym for the 2011-12 Boys Basketball season has changed, and the Roosevelt student section will now be located in the south bleachers behind the Rough Riders team bench, where students STANDING will be accepted. Kent adult seating will be in the northwest and southeast sections.
The 3rd Annual Multiple Sclerosis Charity Girls Basketball
The 3rd Annual Multiple Sclerosis Charity Girls Basketball game will be held Wednesday, November 23rd at RHS at 6:00 p.m. Buy your tickets from Lady Riders Basketball players for $5.00 and come enjoy the game and support a great cause!
“The Great American Smokeout”
Across the nation on Thursday, November 17th, the American Cancer Society is sponsoring “The Great American Smokeout”. Current smokers are encouraged to use this Thursday as a date to make a plan to quit smoking. If you are seriously ready to change your behavior and give up tobacco, smokers are encouraged to make this their “quit date”. If you want to learn more about quitting tobacco, or want information on available resources, see Mrs. Peoples Dukes in the Student Assistance Office in the main office or on the counter in the Activities office. Think about it, and take a positive step for your health today!
Vote Ryan Anderson High School Football Rudy Scholarship Award
Ryan Anderson is a Kent Roosevelt Senior who is currently battling Bone Cancer. He has been nominated by RHS Football Coach, John Nemec, for the High School Football Rudy Award. This award is a College Scholarship that Ryan could be honored with! This is a Great Honor just being Nominated! Ryan is one of 50 semifinalists and was chosen out of over 250 nominees as of November 1st! Voting is currently underway again until December 11th when the top 12 Finalist will be announced! We would like for all of Kent City School Employees, Students, and Family Members to help support Ryan by voting for him EVERY DAY. They can also post a story or comment about how Ryan has inspired them and the community. Football Playoff Community Send-Off!
The cheerleaders are organizing a community send-off for the football team. Community members are invited to line Roosevelt Drive (from the stadium to State Route 43) by 4:45 p.m. to send off the team (the busses leave at 5:00 p.m.). Wear your red, black, and white to show your Rider Pride! Please park in the student parking lot to avoid traffic congestion in the teacher’s lot for the band and cheerleading bus to leave after the team.

Way to go, RIDERS, way to go!! That’s right!! Our Rough Rider Football Team has advanced in the play-offs to play Walsh THIS FRIDAY at 7:30 p.m. at Twinsburg High School Football Stadium. Tickets will be on sale starting WEDNESDAY from 8am -3pm in the Activities Office. Pre-sale tickets are $7 (cash only); tickets at the gate will be $9.00, so make sure you buy them at Roosevelt because we keep a part of the proceeds and it’s cheaper!!!
