Bridges Academy – Transition

Last winter, The Bridges Academy Teachers and our administrative team explored ways to enhance and improve the freshmen transition process for our 9th grade at-risk student population. Accordingly, this fall, a freshmen transition team comprised of faculty and administrators was formed. Our main purpose was to devise an educational plan that would most benefit our freshmen.

After thoughtful deliberation our team determined that the resources used to create The Bridges Academy could be used differently to assist more of our students. We will continue to have high expectations for all of our students. Students will be scheduled into their classes based upon ability. When students are not achieving at grade level, we will provide them with opportunities and interventions to meet their individual needs.

Providing the best possible education for our students is the commitment we make to them and to our community. Discontinuing The Bridges Academy was a difficult decision for our transition team, but we are excited for what the future holds for all of our students. The decision is based on the thorough and thoughtful planning of our experienced and conscientious staff and represents our best effort to continue to provide a quality education for all students.
