Career Education Programs

Theodore Roosevelt is a member of the Six District Educational Compact. The Compact offers 23 College Tech Prep Initiatives (CTPI) and three Career Programs (CP).

Our seven CTPI programs equip students for high-skill, high-wage careers demanded in a competitive economy.  Students are prepared to transition to college with technical skills, college prep academics and, in some cases, even college credit for high school coursework.

Our CP programs combine academic skills with a real life context for learning and include authentic experiences.  The occupational curriculum is based on input from business and industry to include specific technical skills and knowledge needed to prepare for further education and/or careers in current or emerging employment sectors.

Academy Programs

Expedition Academy: is based on a model developed by Harvard University and Outward Bound. It seeks to create an alternative learning experience through the integration of English, history, physical education and health with outdoor skills and community service. This is a college preparatory academy.
Bridges Academy: serves as a link between middle school and high school experiences to help ensure student success. Teaching teams share a 200 minute block and adjust courses to meet student needs through small group or individualized instruction and a project-based approach. The low student-teacher ratio focuses on building strong student-teacher relationships.
