Tuesdays with Morrie Quote Book Criteria

 1. QUOTES – The quotes you choose should sincerely mean something to you. You need a total of 15 quotes, with at least half being from Tuesdays with Morrie.  The quotes from other sources should include who said it. No more than two quotes on a page.

 2. COVER – This should be similar to an actual book cover. Use cardstock or other material that is thicker than regular paper for the front and back covers. Make it colorful and creative. Create a title for your quote book. The front cover should also give credit to the reading by including the title of Tuesdays with Morrie somewhere. Also include your name and date.

 3. TITLE PAGE – This page will go directly after your front cover. Include the title of your quote book, your name, date, and give credit to all the sources for your quotes.

 4. BINDING – Binding should allow for easy page turning. You may use string, ribbon, yarn, etc, as a finishing touch to your cover. Be creative.

 5. DEDICATION PAGE – What would a book be without a dedication page? This can be written in dedication to anyone. Include the reason you are dedicating it to that person. (See other books for examples.)

 6. INTRODUCTION PAGE – In one or two typed, double-spaced pages describe the overall effect the book had on you, why you chose the quotes you did , awhat the focus of your quotes is, and what you hope to implement in your life as a result of the book and the quotes compiled.  It should be written in essay form using 12 point font.

 7. GRAPHICS – Illustrate your book using whatever media you choose. Use clipart, finger paints, watercolors, drawings, photos, collages, etc.

 8. ORGANIZATION – Your quotes should be organized (by topics, author, favorites, etc.).  Look at published quote books for examples of various organization techniques. A table of contents and page numbers are optional.

 9. CREATIVITY – This book should reflect how you live or would like to live your life. Consequently, the quotes, illustrations, etc., should reflect those beliefs, morals, hopes, etc.

 10. MECHANICS – Spelling, punctuation, and grammar count! Review your work before making your final product.

 11. ORDER OF FINAL DRAFT – 1)cover; 2) title page; 3)dedication page; 4)table of contents (if you wish to have one); 5)introduction; 6)quote pages
