Your child’s safety is of the utmost importance to us in the Kent City Schools and at Davey Elementary School.  In order for our children to have the right environment for learning, we must also make sure that it is a safe environment for students and staff members. 

The Kent City Schools Student Conduct Code is the cornerstone of our students’ safety at school.  We take very seriously and expect students to follow the code of conduct.  At the beginning of the year, each teacher reviews the code of conduct with students.   Copies are also posted in all classrooms. We continue to review those expectations throughout the year in class sessions with Mrs. Congrove (guidance counselor) and myself. 

We need your help.  In recent weeks you received a copy of the Davey Parent-Student Handbook.  The code of conduct is included in that handbook.  Please make the time to review it with your child/children and take the opportunity of discussing the importance of keeping Davey a safe environment for all. We appreciate your help.  Let’s all work together to make our school safe for all students and staff.  If you should need a copy of the code of conduct, please call the office and we will make sure that you receive one.  (330-676-7400) Thank you.

Our prek-5th grade students are doing a wonderful job of following the Davey 4R’s: respect your peers, respect adults, respect your school and respect yourself! Our fifth graders are being great models for our younger students. Many of them are assigned to all-day kindergarten students at lunchtime. They also meet our half-day and all-day kindergarteners at the end of the day and escort them to their buses. We are very proud of your efforts! Thanks for modeling the positive behaviors for the rest of the Davey students!

Welcome back to Davey Elementary for the 2009-2010 school year!

The staff is very excited to be back to welcome our Davey learners.

Don’t forget to come to Meet Your Teacher Night on Tuesday,  August 25th from 5:30-7:00 pm.  Tour our school, find your room and meet your teachers.  You can bring your school supplies that evening.  Ice cream will be served compliments of the Davey PTO.  See you there!  If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at Davey, 330-676-7400.
