FRIENDSHIP SALAD

Longcoy’s 3rd grade students invited the 2nd grade students for a Friendship Salad gathering as a culminating activity to the third grade nutrition unit.  The gathering was also a celebration of the friendship between our students as well as a opportunity for the students to practice their communication and socialization skills.

FOOD DRIVE

Once again, Longcoy School donated food to Kent Social Services to help needy families over the holidays.  Longcoy surpassed its goal of collecting 2,400 food items and actually turned in 2,423!!!  The Food Drive was sponsored by Longcoy’s Student Council under the leadership of P.E. teacher, Shawn Bates, and 4th grade teacher, Erika Revis.

Longcoy Students Reach Out to Veterans!

Many Longcoy students across all the grades made Veteran’s Day cards for the Veterans who will be eating free Friday, November 11, 20011 at Applebees in Stow. Fifth grade Social Studies teacher (Heather Elliott) organized the activity and delivered over 100 cards, along with pencils to the restaurant after school. She was told by the restaurant manager that the cards will be so appreciated by the men and women who receive them!

2nd Grade Art

Mrs. Wade and Mrs. Wollam’s 2nd grade classes studied Eric Carle’s collage illustrations and the techniques he used. Based on what the students learned, they created their own versions of his art. Great job kids!
