Hello Longcoy Friends and Families,
December 29th, 2009 (Janice Swan)Happy New Year!
The teachers and I look forward to having our students back at school in January! Hopefully, everyone had a nice winter break and enjoyed the time with special friends and family members. Please realize that we are now entering into the most intense academic time of the school year. Students will need to be focused on learning and responsible for completing classwork and homework. January is a great time of year to nestle in with a good book and to practice math facts using flashcards and/or computer websites. Enjoy the beauty of the winter season and the return to the routine of school life.

Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration for the 2010-2011 school year will be held on Wednesday, April 7th, at 7:00 p.m. This adult only meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. Please bring a copy of your child’s official birth certificate (hospital birth record will not be accepted), social security card, and immunization record. You will also need to provide TWO documents with a Kent address for proof of residency (a copy of a lease or mortgage AND a copy of a drivers license, pay stub, utility bill, state identification, or voter’s registration card).
Students must be registered in their building of residence. A parent who wishes his/her child to attend another elementary school within Kent City Schools, may fill out an application during registration

We only have until February 5th to turn in 500 Cookie Dough orders to Market Day. You can order online at www.marketday.com (use code 10830) or turn your order and payment made out to Market Day into Mrs. Baird at Longcoy’s office. All orders must be picked up on Friday, February 12th, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Longcoy’s gym.
