Welcome new students to Construction Technologies

This year’s students come from Cuyahoga Falls, Tallmadge, Kent, Stow, and Woodridge. It has been an exciting start to a fantastic year! Currently, the students are working with measurement and layout tools. In the pictures below, students worked in groups of two and challanged their measurement skills by measuring various items in and around the lab.

Senior students give back to the community

Seniors, Matt Frantz, Steve Shimko, and Cody Jones are giving there time and talent to excellent use. Family and Community Services of Portage County has begun construction on a new house located on Fairchild Ave. in Kent. Eric Voiers Construction is framing the house. He has allowed these three students to become a part of the framing construction. The students are on the job performing tasks learned during their junior year. The experience of real life application has been incredible for all three students.

Recent trip to Hartville Hardware

Students engaged with 68 vendors from many tool companies such as Makita,Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Porter Cable. They learned about many tools used in our industry by communicating with the vendors first hand. Students also had the opportunity to use most of the tools on display.
