Greetings! This week, we have been working in our Writing Notebooks, adding new words to our “Gems” section, and completing Dailie #2 in class. Our “Grounds for Thought” centers on writing about a childhood memory (based on a discussion we had about Charles Dickens, a famous author who admitted that many of his ideas for writing fiction came from childhood memories.) Vocabulary Lesson #3 is due this coming Thursday, and later this week, we will complete another Black History Month activity–famous African-American men and women.

Please see the new link I have to the right—it is an interesting one that can give the students an opportunity to practice vocabulary words for the OAA test! Notice what happens when the students get 10 correct answers (see link for details!)

Have a good week!
